Emilia Hinkkanen

Communications Advisor

Suisse

I am the Communications Advisor for Interpeace’s Finance for Peace initiative, working with the team to scale up “peace finance” – investments that intentionally seek to improve conditions for peace in developing and fragile contexts. I have some 20 years of professional communications experience from many viewpoints, including international politics and development, human rights, sport governance and business. My previous workplaces include the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS), the European Commission, Amnesty International, European football governing body UEFA, the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), and Huhtamaki, a global sustainable packaging company. I am passionate about working to solve global issues by bringing people and agendas together through cross-sectoral collaboration. I believe that is the only way to effect sustainable positive change.

I have a Politics & Journalism BA degree from University of Central Lanchashire in the UK, MA in International Relations and European Studies from the Central European University, and an Executive Certificate in Advocacy in International Affairs from the Graduate Institute of International and Development Studies in Geneva.
